Get Instructions in Your Language

Scan & Fax

All Library locations have self-service ScanEZ kiosks for free high-speed scanning of documents and photos and text-to-audio scanning. ScanEZ kiosks also have translation capabilities. The scanners have a 17” x 12” scanning area.

ScanEZ kiosks can also send free faxes to fax numbers in the United States and Canada. Please note that we are not able to receive faxes for patrons.

Scanning/Translating/Faxing Instructions with ScanEZ

Before you begin, select Accessibility for audio or visual assistance tools, or you may also translate on screen instructions into your preferred language by selecting Language.

Select Touch Here to Start.

Select Source (flatbed scanner or sheet fed scanner).

Select Next.

Select a media option:

  • Scan-to-USB
  • Scan-to-Copy
  • Scan-to-Email
  • Scan-to One Drive
  • Scan-to-Google Drive
  • Scan-to-Dropbox
  • Scan-Text-to-Audio
  • Text Translation
  • Scan-to-Fax
  • Scan-to-Smart Phone

Select Next.

Read copyright statement and select Accept to proceed.

On Scan Settings screen, select:

  • Output Format (PDF, SPDF, Word, TIFF, JPEG, PNG)
  • Scan Mode (Color, grayscale, black & white)
  • Image Quality (Standard, High Quality, Photo)

Place your document on glass screen or in sheet fed scanner and click on Scan.

  • If you want to make any changes, select options in View and Edit

Preview your scan and select Next (if not satisfied, select ‘delete’ and restart process).

Follow these instructions per media option selected:

  • Scan-to-USB: Insert a USB flash drive into the dongle (the main directory and the filename will be auto-populated. You may be able to modify one or both).
  • Scan-to-Copy: In the Job Information field, enter your Library card number, guest pass or any other name that you want to use to log in with at the scanner to retrieve your copy.
  • Scan-to-Email: Add an email address to email your scanned document to yourself or someone else.
  • Scan-to-One Drive/Google Drive/Dropbox: Log into your existing OneDrive/Google Drive/Dropbox account to save the scanned file.
  • Scan-Text-to-Audio: Select which language you would like to audio translate your document into.
  • Text Translation: Select which language you would like to translate your document into.
  • Scan-to-Fax: Enter the recipient’s fax number and choose fax settings (if you select email confirmation, you will need to also enter your email address; if you select cover sheet, a blank cover sheet will appear for you to complete).
  • Scan-to-Smartphone: Scan the QR code shown on the screen with your smartphone (once scanned, you may download the file directly to your device).

Then select an option: Scan more (to scan more pages and save to the same media), I’m Done (to end scanning), or Save to other Media (to save scanned documents to another media).

Print & Copy

All Library locations offer a limited number of free printed pages. You can print to our printers from Library computers using the printing interface, or print from your own device—even if you are not in the Library. Copying is also available.
