Visit the Seattle Reads 25th Anniversary exhibit for a look back at the authors and books that have made up this beloved program.
The exhibit runs from April 24 – June 26, 2023 in the Central Library Level 8 Gallery.
Founded in 1998, Seattle Reads is a city-wide book group, where people are encouraged to read and discuss the same book. Originally called “If All of Seattle Read the Same Book,” Seattle Reads was the first “One Book, One City” program. It proved so popular that that concept has spread across all 50 states and even internationally. These programs are designed to deepen engagement in literature through reading and discussion.
Since 1998, we have partnered with local independent book stores and other organizations to bring the city together to read one book.
