Learn with these engaging activities.
Learning Activities
Attend a storytime, program or event at the Library! For a list of events, check out our calendar or visit your local branch to see what’s happening this summer.
Play a game! From board games or video games to tabletop or puzzles, gaming builds all sorts of skills such as problem solving, creativity, critical thinking, teamwork and social skills.
Visit a museum, art exhibit or cultural center in your area.
Many museums and cultural centers in town have free admission the first Thursday of the month, like the Northwest African American Museum, Seattle Asian Art Museum, and the Burke Museum.
Learn more about museums and cultural centers that highlight the deep, rich culture and history of the Indigenous, Black and diverse communities of Seattle.
Expand your vocabulary. This summer learn about or even create your own collective nouns: A pixel of gamers? A plot of readers? A bouquet of butterflies? A collective noun is a single word that refers to a group of people, things or animals. What other group names can you discover or create?
