A brief article in which the author contends that the A.Y.P.E. will serve the purpose of uniting the Pacific states in the pursuit of trade relations with the Pacific nations of the East ("what is known as the Orient and Oceania" (p. 344)). Author notes that the exposition will offer traders the opportunity to study "the habits and customs" of people of the Orient and offers ideas and statistics to explain why the U.S. has been lagging behind European nations in trade with Eastern countries.
