We will offer services and programs that help our patrons in the pursuit of these goals - because we believe all people should feel welcome and have access to opportunities that will improve their lives.
Our Goal
Help people build confidence and skills to pursue and achieve their life goals. We will expand programming that improves student success. We will prioritize equity, diversity, inclusivity and accessibility, as they are key to empowerment for all.
How We Will Make an Impact
We will provide the community:
- Accessible and inclusive collections, programs, services and spaces.
- Opportunities to celebrate the freedom to read, personal expression and community diversity.
- Cutting-edge technologies that support current and emergent job and life skills.
- Friendly, knowledgeable and culturally competent staff who engage, listen and deliver responsive services.
2025 Accomplishments
- Established new review and planning processes for Library programs, including a quarterly planning calendar and strategy meetings to better coordinate systemwide.
2026 Priority Activities
- Develop strategies to enhance planning and promotion of Library programs, including standardizing event descriptions and exploring new event registration tools.
- Develop strategies to enhance planning of Library displays to strengthen alignment with community needs and interests and to promote community inclusion and belonging.
- Explore and incorporate new technologies into Library outreach, engagement and programs, such as captioning hardware and software and refreshable braille displays.
