Howl's Moving Castle
Jones' modern-day classic and the inspiration for the play. Teenage Sophie is resigned to a dull fate running her family's hat shop when she is turned into an elderly woman by the feared Witch of the Waste. Adventures abound after Sophie finds work cleaning the notorious Wizard Howl's castle and strikes up a bargain with Howl's fire demon, Calcifer. Originally intended for children and young adults, Jones' novel is beloved by all ages.
