Watch The World Cup Semifinals At The Seattle Public Library July 2

If you’ve been kicking around where to watch the excitement, fun and drama of soccer's greatest event – look no further than The Seattle Public Library! We'll be showing the U.S. vs. England FIFA Women's World Cup game today at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636.
Doors will open at 11:30 a.m., and the semifinals match will start at noon. Everyone is welcome, there is no charge and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Central Library is sure to be a popular World Cup viewing venue with its 15-foot x 20-foot screen, 275-seat auditorium and the ability to purchase coffee, soda, sandwiches or snacks at Chocolati Café on Level 3.
"The Library is a great place for information, education and recreation," said Executive Director and Chief Librarian Marcellus Turner. "We thought it would be fun to have some of the games on for our patrons, particularly those who don't have ready access to television. I’m sure there will be patrons working or studying in the building who also will appreciate the opportunity to take a break and watch part of a match."
He added that "no one will be shushed" for cheering. Watching the World Cup at a library also gives fans the option of browsing the shelves or finding more about other free summer activities while they are there.
