Filmmaking Workshop for Teens Begins on June 5 at the Beacon Hill Branch
release date: 05/15/2019
Learn the basics of filmmaking and make your own short film from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, June 5 through July 3 at the Beacon Hill Branch, 2821 Beacon Ave. S., 206-684-4711.
Reel Grrls, a local media arts center, will show teens ages 13-18 how to create short, 60-second videos using found-object art (things that are made or found in your community). You'll tell a story around those objects, giving them the representation they deserve.
Library events are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required, but program is limited to 12 students. This is a series program—plan to attend every date.
Reel Grrls equips and empowers young people ages 11 to 21 to engage critically and creatively with digital media to create positive social change.
The Library supports children and youth by giving them opportunities to excel and learn through our educational resources, classes and staff assistance. We support universal access to information and ideas, and form strong partnerships with community organizations to offer classes and workshops that are accessible to all.
