The Seattle Public Library will host concerts, musical preview lectures and dramatic performances at several locations throughout the city in August.

Richard III preview with upstart crow collective - Join director Rosa Joshi and actors from upstart crow collective for a discussion and reading from their upcoming all-female production of Shakespeare's Richard III.

Vocalist Jessica Clipper - Join Lake City Future First and the Lake City Branch for a performance of teen sensation Jessica Clipper.

Young Musicians Concert – Alina Bui, Lian Halbert, and James Liang from Shih-Yi Kuan’s music studio in Mill Creek will perform operatic arias and piano works from 18th and 19th centuries.

African Showcase Performance - Teaching artists from Gansango Music & Dance Company perform music and dance from West Africa. This interactive performance will entertain and educate, blending contemporary and traditional dance with drumming, song and audience participation. This program is part of the Library's Summer of Learning.

Stellaluna – Join Tears of Joy Theatre for a puppet show based on the popular children’s book by Janell Cannon. The fruit bat, Stellaluna, learns just what it takes to be a bird, a bat and a friend. The performance features puppets that kids can explore after the show. This program is part of the Library's Summer of Learning.
