The Century 21 Exposition Digital Collection tells the story of the Seattle World's Fair from planning to demolition. The collection contains photographs, books, brochures, reports, and other materials, documenting construction work, buildings, exhibits, crowds, and events.

The Seattle City Directory Collection includes more than a century of city directories that document Seattle's past one year at a time. This selection includes directories ranging in date from 1867 through 1928 with a focus on pre-statehood directories published through 1889.

The Seattle Historical Photograph Collection contains more than 1,000 images that illuminate the early history of Seattle. This segment of over 100 photographs contains some of the earliest images in the collection

The Northwest Art Collection is a digital selection of 85 prints, drawings and paintings from a variety of important Northwest artists included in the Library's art collection.

The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition Digital Collection features books, pamphlets, invitations, reports, speeches, maps, articles and more. It was created in honor of the Exposition's centennial in 2009. It includes items from the collection of the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI).

Special Collections at the Central Library
- The Aviation History Collection focuses on the early days of aviation, especially relating to the design, manufacturing and marketing of airplanes from 1930 to 1950.
- The Genealogy Collection houses more than 40,000 items dealing primarily with records and families of North America - including those from the original 13 colonies, the Old Northwest Territory and from states referred to as "Gateways to the West."
- The Seattle Collection contains items about Seattle's history and includes published materials, Seattle city documents, photographs, newspaper clippings, maps and atlases, high school yearbooks and oral histories, artwork and an autograph collection.
