Global Reading Challenge
The Global Reading Challenge is a Battle of the Books program for 4th and 5th graders enrolled in Seattle Public Schools. The program encourages children to have fun and enjoy reading. After reading 10 books, children take part in a "Quiz Bowl" game to determine the winner for the city of Seattle.
To celebrate the 2016 Global Reading Challenge, Global authors Margi Preus, N.H. Senzai, and Katherine Applegate will give presentations to Global students.
The Seattle Children’s Theatre is staging the play Hana’s Suitcase for ages 10 and older through February 7. Here is a link to their website and dates of the play.
Enter to win a gorilla prize pack and classroom visit from the Woodland Park Zoo! Students who read The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate and complete this activity book will be entered to win, and their work will be posted on the Zoo Blog.
