Get ready for summer by playing Book Bingo, The Seattle Public Library's popular summer reading program for adults! The fifth year of this city-wide challenge is co-presented by Seattle Arts & Lectures (SAL) and The Seattle Public Library.

Book Bingo offers a fun and creative way for Seattle readers to expand their reading selections. Each square on the bingo card presents a reading challenge, where you read and record a book title that fits the challenge.

This year's bingo card will be unveiled Tuesday, May 14 at SAL’s Literary Arts Series event featuring Tayari Jones, author of "An American Marriage," at Benaroya Hall.

HOW TO START PLAYING

Beginning May 15, pick up a Book Bingo card from any location of The Seattle Public Library or print one from www.spl.org/bookbingo. Cards will also be available at an author event at the Central Library on May 22 featuring Karen Russell, author of "Orange World and Other Stories."

Once you have a card, fill it in with titles of the books you read from May 15 through Sept. 3, 2019. Want to get a head start? Here’s a sneak peek at some 2019 squares:

  • True crime or crime fiction
  • DIY books (do-it-yourself guides)
  • A book set in summer

HOW TO ENTER

When you’ve marked out an entire row or all 25 squares, bring the completed Book Bingo card to any Library location or mail it to SAL, 340 15th Ave. E., Suite 301, Seattle, WA 98112.
