'The Big One': 24th Annual Art Walk at the Greenwood Branch May 10

The Seattle Public Library will display work from local artists Rosemary Washington and Malcolm Ford during the 24th annual PhinneyWood art walk, "The Big One," from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, May 10 and Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at the Greenwood Branch, 8016 Greenwood Ave. N., 206-684-4086.
About the Artists
Washington's watercolors give expression to the inspiration she finds in nature, especially the flowers, leaves, trees and animals of the Pacific Northwest. By pairing her paintings with literary quotes and poems from her readings for this exhibit entitled "Watercolors & Words," Washington has curated a delightful union of the literary and visual arts, a tribute to the Greenwood Branch where she has worked for the past 18 years.
Ford is an independent glass artist from Seattle. He was part of the Hill Top Artists and Residents Glassblowing Production Team at Jason Lee Middle School in Tacoma, which donated handmade glass works to help non-profit organizations raise funds. Malcolm volunteers at Pratt Fine Arts Center while continuing his studies and glass practice. This exhibit, "Decorative Artwork Made from 2050°," showcases his work.

The art walk is free and open to the public. No registration is required. On Friday night, the Greenwood Branch will close at its regular time, 6 p.m., and access to materials or holds will not be available. Please note that only the meeting room and restrooms will be open during the art walk. The parking garage will also close at 6 p.m., however street parking is free and available near the branch.
"The Big One" is a free annual art walk in the Greenwood and Phinney Ridge neighborhoods. The art walk is organized by the Greenwood Arts Council in collaboration with the Phinney Neighborhood Association.
