Priscilla Long, poet and author of "Minding the Muse: A Handbook for Painters, Composers, Writers and Other Dreamers," will discuss learning from virtuoso artists and other creators from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 4, Howard S. Wright Family & Janet W. Ketcham Meeting Room 2, 206-386-4636.

Library events are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Parking in the Central Library garage will be available for $7.

Long will talk about "Learning from the Greats: A Conversation on the Habits and Strategies of Virtuoso Artists, Writers, and Other Creators."

"I've used my own discoveries and those of creativity researchers," Long said, "to inform and improve upon my own strategies as a writer and poet. I find that no matter how experienced I get, there's something more to learn."

Long is a Seattle-based writer and poet who has published one poetry book as well as books on history, fiction and creative nonfiction.
