Library Lounge Presents Playback After Hours: Celebrate New Music at The Seattle Public Library Nov. 3

Don't miss an exciting evening after hours at the Library! Dance to the new music being added to PlayBack, The Seattle Public Library's online local music collection. The Library will host a free launch party from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday, Nov. 3 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 3, Norcliffe Foundation Living Room, 206-386-4636.
Emceed by Adra Boo (formerly of Fly Moon Royalty), there will be live music by PlayBack artists Falon Sierra, Shower Scum and Future Shock. There will also be drag and burlesque performances by artists from Legendary Children and grooves spun by KEXP's DJ Riz.
The event is for all ages. A cash bar for ages 21 and up will be available and an ID is required. Doors open at 8 p.m. and early arrival is encouraged.
ABOUT PLAYBACK
In 2016, The Seattle Public Library launched an online Seattle music collection called PlayBack that enabled Seattleites to download free local music. In the last two years, 150 local artists have been added. Artists new to the collection in this round include Hibou, The True Loves, Holy Pistola and Amy Denio.
Anyone can stream the albums for free, and Library cardholders can download and keep any music in the PlayBack collection.
PlayBack is open to all Seattle-area musicians who record or perform in the city of Seattle and have had an album produced within the last five years. PlayBack is intended to be an ever-expanding collection of Seattle's musical culture, and a total of 100 new albums will be available each year through the Library's catalog.
