Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra Performs at The Seattle Public Library April 23

Adam Stern, artistic director for the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Seattle Philharmonic Strings will present a concert featuring Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's "Serenade for Strings" from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 23 at The Seattle Public Library, Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636 .
Library programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required. Parking is available in the Central Library garage at the regular rates.
Tchaikovsky's "Serenade for Strings" is widely considered to be the jewel in the crown of string orchestra literature, one of the most moving and lyrical pieces the composer ever wrote. This concert will also feature works by Baroque masters Henry Purcell and Antonio Caldara, and two contrasting 20th-century masterpieces by Paul Hindemith and Toru Takemitsu.
