Updated: More Seattle Libraries to Open Sunday & Monday to Provide Additional Respite from the Heat

The Seattle Public Library will open additional libraries from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 27 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, June 28 to provide additional cooling centers during what is expected to be the worst of the heat wave currently impacting the Pacific Northwest. Library staff members originally scheduled to work in libraries without air conditioning are being redeployed to support this temporary expansion of service.
Libraries with air conditioning are a great place for Seattle residents to cool off. Visitors can browse and read books, use computers and Wi-Fi, access restrooms and drinking fountains, charge devices and more.
The following is a schedule of reopened libraries, equipped with air conditioning, through Tuesday, June 29.

Hours are from noon to 6 p.m. Additional branches that have been added to provide service on Sunday are highlighted in bold. Please note: The Broadview Branch, which was planned to open today, is closed due to unplanned maintenance work. The Delridge Branch has been added to the list of cooling center locations for Sunday.
