Local Poets Read: Lyn Coffin & Sharon Cumberland at The Seattle Public Library May 13

Hear voices from the Seattle poetry scene from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 13 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 4, Howard S. Wright Family & Janet W. Ketcham Meeting Room 2, 206-386-4636 .
Library events are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required. Parking is available in the Central Library garage for $7.
The event will feature the poetry of Lyn Coffin and Sharon Cumberland. The local poets will read from their work and discuss poetry with the audience.
Coffin will read from "This Green Life," her new and selected poems. Coffin has published over 30 books of poetry, fiction, drama and nonfiction and is the recipient of many awards.
Cumberland's new collection, "Strange with Age," is about the passage of time and how we cope with the challenges of individual, social, and moral life during our allotted time on earth. Centered on a crown of sonnets about her aging father, "Strange with Age" tackles the vagaries of life in in a multitude of ways.
