The Seattle Public Library will host musical performances by the Ladies Musical Club (LMC) at two locations in May. Dates, times and locations are outlined below.

Noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 10 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636 . This month's concert will feature songs by French composers. Performances will be given by sopranos Katie Hochman, Tiina Ritalahti, Ya-Li Lee and Joyce Allison and by pianist Joan Lundquist.


3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 14 at the West Seattle Branch, 2306 42nd Ave. S.W., 206-684-7444. This month's concert will feature music by Gluck, Strauss, Wagner, Mozart, Dvorak and more from operas based on fairytales, folklore and legend. The semi-staged performance will be given by the LMC opera group, with commentary provided by director Regina Thomas.


The LMC is an organization of women with the mission to foster classical music in the community through education, performance and awards.

Library programs are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Free parking is available near the West Seattle Branch. Parking is available in the Central Library garage at the regular rates.
