The Seattle Public Library will host musical performances by the Ladies Musical Club at two locations in April. Dates, times and locations are outlined below.

3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 9 at the West Seattle Branch, 2306 42nd Ave. S.W., 206-684-7444 . This month's concert will feature music for oboe, bassoon and piano as well as American folk songs selected for the Herbolsheimer Festival 2017. Performances will be given by oboeist Gail Perstein, bassoonist Eric Shankland, soprano Lesley Chapin and pianists Nobuko Hasegawa and Carol Hartoon.


Noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 12 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636 . This month's concert will feature Gustav Mahler's Rückert-Lieder song cycle and piano works by Ludwig van Beethoven and Frédéric Chopin. Performances will be given by soprano Alexandra Picard and pianists Glenda Williams and Maria Khavin.


The Ladies Musical Club is an organization of women with the mission to foster classical music in the community through education, performance and awards.

Library programs are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Free parking is available near the West Seattle Branch. Parking is available in the Central Library garage at the regular rates.
