The Green Lake Branch, 7364 E. Green Lake Dr. N., 206-684-7547, will temporarily close at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17 for construction work to repair dry rot surrounding the skylight above the entry. The book drops also will close.

Because the work involves the use of scaffolding, heavy equipment and maneuvering long beams, the branch and book drops will close for the safety of staff and patrons.

The branch is expected to reopen by the end of the year; the reopening date is dependent on the complexity of the work.

Because the closure is so brief, holds will be temporarily suspended. Holds not picked up by 5 p.m. Dec. 17 will not be available until the branch reopens. Patrons do not need to take any action - holds will be automatically restarted once the branch reopens. Patrons who want to pick up their holds at another branch while the Green Lake Branch is closed should contact staff before 5 p.m. Dec. 17.

Patrons are encouraged to visit the following branches for Library service while the Green Lake Branch is closed:

Northgate Branch, 10548 Fifth Ave. N.E., 206-386-1980
