Finals for the 25th Annual Global Reading Challenge at The Seattle Public Library March 24

Teams of fourth- and fifth-graders from Seattle Public Schools will compete for the top spot in the citywide final of the 25th annual Global Reading Challenge from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 24 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636.
This event is free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Parking is available in the Central Library garage for $7 after 5 p.m.
About the Global Reading Challenge
Our mission with the Global Reading Challenge is to encourage reading as a fun and recreational activity that allows fourth- and fifth-grade students of all reading abilities to engage in the sport of reading.
This citywide program is a collaborative effort between The Seattle Public Library and the Seattle Public Schools. Students form teams of 7 and read 10 books, then take part in a trivia competition, answering questions about the books, to determine the winner for the city of Seattle.
The winning team from each school proceeds to the semifinals, which take place Wednesday, March 4 through Thursday, March 19. The winner for each semifinal advances to the City Final Challenge.
