Learn How to Research Family History at The Seattle Public Library This Spring

The Seattle Public Library will offer genealogical workshops and tours in April, May and June. All events will take place at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., 206-386-4636 .
Library events are free and open to the public. Registration is required. To sign up for a workshop or tour, visit the event's calendar listing and click on "Sign Up" or "Online registration is required." Parking is available in the Central Library garage at the regular rates.
Upcoming Genealogical Events at the Library
Beginning Your Family History Research
Genealogy librarian Mahina Oshie will give an introduction to family history research and an overview of research resources available in the Seattle area. Sample genealogy charts and bibliographies will be provided in the class.
2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, April 3 - Class takes place in Level 4, Boeing Technology Training Center Room
Genealogy Databases: Ancestry Library Edition
Genealogy librarian John LaMont will demonstrate how to use the electronic databases and internet resources found on the Library's website to search for ancestors. This workshop will focus on how to use the database "Ancestry Library Edition."
2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, May 22 - Class takes place in Level 4, Boeing Technology Training Center Room
Tour the Genealogy Section
Genealogy librarian John LaMont will give a walking tour of the Library's genealogy section. Print and nonprint materials will be discussed.
2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, June 5 - Tour begins at Level 9 reference desk.
