release date: 01/19/2021
Starting Tuesday, Jan. 19, The Seattle Public Library will expand locations and hours for Curbside Pickup and material return services. With this expansion, the Library now offers Curbside service at 13 locations, and patrons can return materials at 18 locations throughout the city of Seattle.
“We developed our new Curbside service last summer to give patrons access to books, CDs, DVDs and other materials while Library buildings are closed,” said Andrew Harbison assistant director for Collections and Access. “Seattle residents will now be able to use this popular service in more neighborhoods to pick up their eagerly awaited holds and return their items.”
See www.spl.org/Hours for a full list of services at each location, but highlights of the expansion includes:
Curbside Pickup Service locations offer additional services, including a selection of Peak Picks (there are new titles for January!) that patrons can browse and add to their checkouts, Grab & Go bundles of books sorted by genre, and free child-sized and adult disposable masks available for patron use.
In order to minimize the spread of COVID-19, patrons should wear face coverings and maintain six feet of separation from other patrons and staff. The Library will continue to follow best practices for the health and safety of our patrons and staff, including social distancing, regular cleaning and sanitation, wearing personal protective equipment, requiring the use of face masks, plexiglass barriers and quarantining of Library materials.
