ABOUT DÍA
Children’s Day/Book Day, commonly known as Día, is a celebration of children, families and reading that culminates yearly on April 30. It emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. This nationally recognized initiative was founded in 1997 by author and poet Pat Mora.
The Seattle Public Library celebrates Día in partnership with King County Library System and Sno-Isle Libraries. You can find descriptions of the events in Spanish and English at www.spl.org/DiaDeLosNinos.
