'See the World, Feed Your Mind': The Seattle Public Library Presents Global Children's Films Dec. 29-30

The Seattle Public Library will show animated and live-action short films from around the world for children from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29 and Saturday, Dec. 30 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636.

 

Films are selected from the Children's Film Festival Seattle 2017. The screenings are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Parking is available in the Central Library garage at the regular rates. Each day, there will be a half hour break between the animated and live-action film screenings.

 

Shine On!

From 11 a.m. to noon, we'll be showing animated films. For ages 5 and up.

  • "The Sled" (Olesya Shchukina, Russia)
  • "I Am Not a Mouse" (Evgenia Golubeva, UK)
  • "Konigiri-Kun Shopping" (Mari Miyazawa, Japan)
  • "Silence! For Pete's Sake!" (Kai Pannen, Germany)
  • "Lilou" (Rawan Rahim, Lebanon/France)
  • "Junction" (Nathan Jurevicius, Lithuania/Canada/Australia)
  • "Little Stone Lion" (Tang Chen, Taiwan)
  • "Mimi & Liza: Farewell Color Grey" (Katarína Kerekesová, Slovakia)
  • "Moon Wolves" (Nima Yousefi, Sweden)

 

 

Longing and Belonging

From 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., we'll be showing live-action films. For ages 8 and up (due to subtitles).

  • "Valentino" (Cassiana Maranha, Brazil)
  • "The Debt" (Helen Flanagan, Ireland)
  • "Shirin's Dream" (Maryam Abdoli, Iran)
  • "Mr. and Mrs. Kim" (Jaehuen Chung, U.S.)
  • "I Am Yup'ik" (Daniele Anastasion and Nathan Golon, U.S.)

 

This program is presented in partnership with Children's Film Festival Seattle of Northwest Film Forum.
