Library Closed Thursday, Nov. 23

All locations of The Seattle Public Library and the book drops at the Central Library will be closed on Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 23.

 

Service interruption in the Library's Online Catalog – Nov. 22

The Library will be performing maintenance on our catalog 8 and 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22. During this time, you will be able to search the Bibliocommons catalog, but will not be able to log in, place holds, renew items or use other catalog features. The former Library catalog (Horizon Information Portal), SPL Mobile, access to e-books, free music downloads and many databases and applications also will be unavailable.

2017 Budget

The Library's 2017 operating budget is $70.8 million, which includes $15.4 million in funding from the Library levy. The $5.6 million capital improvement budget, which is used for major maintenance and asset preservation, includes $3.7 million from the Library levy.

 

In August 2012, Seattle voters approved a $123 million, seven-year Library levy to restore and improve core services.
