Books on Bikes
Using pedal power and customized bicycle trailers, Books on Bikes brings Library services to popular community events around Seattle. A total of 16 Library staff members from across the system make up the Books on Bikes team.
Books on Bikes has three trailers in our fleet:
The original trailer developed and constructed by Colin Stevens, who runs Haulin' Colin in Seattle. It was specially designed to handle a lot of weight, as well as display books and other materials on the built-in shelves. It has a handy umbrella holder to keep books from getting wet if it rains.
A compact flat-top trailer decorated with an urban cityscape designed and painted by Seattle artist Eroyn Franklin.
A covered "reading wagon" trailer featuring a kid-friendly design also created by Eroyn Franklin.
