Getting to the International District / Chinatown Branch

The International District / Chinatown Branch is located at 713 Eighth Ave. S on the west side of Eighth Avenue South, between South Dearborn Street and South Lane Street. The library (and a community center visible along Dearborn) is part of the International District Village Square II building.

 

 

From the north (going south) via I-5:

• Take exit 164 toward I-90.
• Before merging with I-90, take the Dearborn Street exit ramp.
• Turn right on South Dearborn Street, and go 1 block west to Eighth Avenue South.
• Turn right on Eighth Avenue South. The branch is mid-block on the left.

From the south (going north) via I-5:

• Take exit 164A (for I-90) and follow the signs toward Madison Street.
• Before reaching Madison, take the Dearborn Street exit ramp.
• Turn left on Sough Dearborn Street (crossing under I-5) and go 2 blocks west to Eighth Avenue South.
• Turn right on Eighth Avenue South. The branch is mid-block on the left.

From downtown via surface streets:

• Follow Fifth Avenue heading south to South Jackson Street.
• Turn left onto South Jackson and go 4 blocks east to Eighth Avenue South.
• Turn right onto Eighth Avenue South and go 3½ blocks south.
• The branch is on the right hand side at mid-block between South Lane and South Dearborn streets.

Parking

Parking is available on the streets around the branch.

 

Public Transportation Information

All bus routes that provide service to downtown Seattle come within walking distance of the library and many stop within a block. The closest bus tunnel stop is the International District station.
