Visitors and library patrons
Our top priority is providing library services to the community.
Visitors may take casual photographs or videotape in the building as remembrances of their visit. Only handheld cameras are allowed.
The use of additional equipment - such as tripods or lighting - are not permitted because of safety, liability and other issues. Library staff may stop any photography or videotaping that appear to interfere with the Library's ability to conduct business, or that compromise public safety or security.
Media representatives
Representatives of the media who want to film or photograph in the library must receive advance authorization from the Communications Office, 206-386-4103, or andra.addison@spl.org.
Commercial, non-profit entities
Representatives from commercial or non-profit entities who want to film or photograph in the Central Library should contact Event Services, 206-386-4659, or jeff.christensen@spl.org. Proof of insurance and other requirements will be necessary.
