12.0 Staff Break Room

12.1 Function

Staff and volunteers will use the staff break room when they are not on duty; often staff prepare and eat meals there and take brief rests.

Natural light
Outside staff area if possible
Task light for reading if needed
Windowed door
Locker and personal work storage space for each staff member and volunteers

12.4 Components and Furnishings

Full-sized refrigerator, frost-free
Microwave
2 burner stove and oven, self-cleaning, optional in the smaller branches
Sink, counter space for dish drainer, drawers and cupboards
On demand hot water spigot
Soap and towel dispensers
Bulletin board and/or tackable wall covering
Table with 4 or 6 chairs, depending upon branch size
Couch or other lounge seating that allows a person to elevate feet or lie down
Telephone
Coat rack, in or adjacent
1/3 size lockers for staff, Friends and volunteers, in or adjacent
Trash, garbage, and recycling containers
