August 2005
The branch, plaza and park near completion.
 
 
July 2005
Work continues on the interior of the branch. Benches and lighting
are installed outside.
 
 
June 2005
The interior spaces begin to take shape as walls are built.
 
 
May/June 2005
The children's area begins to take shape as interior walls are constructed. Installation of the elevator nears completion.
 
March/April 2005
Art for the Albert Davis Park, which is on the same site as the branch, is installed. The artwork, created by artist Perri Lynch, consists of eight pre-cast concrete wave form sculptures that mark the presence of water in the landscape and symbolically embody both the tranquil and dynamic states of water. With structural steel erection completed, the contractor begins building the exterior walls.
 
January/February 2005
The building begins to take shape as structural steel is erected.
 
November/December 2004
Contractors complete construction of the rectangular concrete planter (left photo, center) along 28th Ave. N.E. The entrance to the new parking garage takes shape.
 
September/October 2004
Contractors place the underground duct-work for the branch. The
layout of the garage takes shape as the columns are completed.
 
August 2004
Concrete forms are removed from the garage as the walls take
shape. A crane sets into place reinforcing steel for the garage
columns.
 
June/July 2004
Excavation continues on the underground parking garage and the
garage detention system.
 
April/May 2004
Select demolition and excavation of underground duct-work
at the branch begins.
