The other sites dissipate the core area & force more driving, not contributing as well to the community --I like the space & location of the current building. -- Either 2, 3 or 4 are good central locations & easy to reach by walking or bus for many Ballard residents. --The existing site is good. -- I prefer existing site because its convenient for me. Also, site 4 & 6 are okay. -- Good location for all people living in this area. -- Good parking -- Good 2nd choice site, 1st choice US Bank -- Better site than any other listed but 3rd choice because of difficult traffic in area & more expensive parking |

-- Either 3 or 4 would be good, whatever best meets library facility & financial needs. Both are close to existing library & have less psychological disruption from a move -- this or the US Bank site would be ok -- accessible to many people who can combine a visit to the library with other errands, close & within walking distance of my condo (US Bank site good 2nd choice) -- sites 3 & 4 are too much of a traffic bottleneck -- either site 3 or 4 are close enough to the present site so as not to upset routines of library-goers. Both are convenient. -- best because of parking, not a heavy traffic area. Easy access from all directions. -- either sites 3 or 4 -- either 3 or 4, with parking -- central location is important w/room for growth & parking access -- second choice |

-- This would be a good central location for us "old" people & younger ones alike, who like to walk to "downtown" Ballard -- Far & away the best site. I see no constraints. One can park in one spot & accomplish multiple shopping tasks in addition to going to the library. Also a convenient site for bus & bike riders -- Plenty of room for parking & new building; good central location -- Traffic horrid -- Central location, near bus routes, kitty-corner from new park; room for future expansion -- Collocation of neighborhood service center & other uses; future expansion space; close to most major bus lines; in the heart of Ballard; contributes to a vibrant pedestrian urban core -- Good mass transit/pedestrian access -- Central to core; big site, greenbelt, close to metro transit -- Parking available, central location -- Close to new civic center & offers the most room for parking -- Growth opportunities, central location, close to bus stops -- Space, good location, safe, room for parking -- Central location -- room for expansion. Nearest site to core area of Ballard & proposed civic center. -- in the core; convenient to most via walking or bus -- good access, big location, room to expand, next to future park (Bartells would be a good 2nd choice) -- better parking, avoids Market Street traffic -- Boulevard from park to Bergen Place. Larger site for expansion/collocation possibilities. -- either 3 or 4 are close to post office and are further north of industrial Leary area. -- large site, central location, north of NW Market Street. Anything south of Market is too difficult to get to with most users residing north of Market. -- central location -- large site would allow collocation of library & neighborhood service center (both now funded). The 15,000 sq. ft library program is a suburban model and should not be a 1-story building. Place it on top of library reserve storage, NSC, public toilets, & parking. Please push through the administrative fears of collocations!! -- the drawback would be the highly congested car traffic area. -- I like the idea of giving the Library more room than it really needs b/c its bound to grow. -- no negotiating with site owners needed, only one building to demolish, more space for assessed value! It is important to keep Bartells nearby. -- Centrally located, big site, parking-- -- This site would work. Please dont force Bartells out; its nice to have a locally owned pharmacy. -- This is a good location -- Centrally located in Ballard with ample parking. -- Best location w/room for expansion without having to move in the future. Try to combine library with Ballard Civic Center. -- I like the central location with room for growth. If Bartells remains, its a plus for shopping & library stops at the same time. -- More central to Ballard, bigger site. -- In the same vicinity as current location. Detrimental to move site to Leary or Russell Streets. -- Seems to be more space here -- There is more parking space & its off a main street, unlike other choices. However, the intersections @ 57th & 22nd & @ 56th & 22nd tend to be hazardous. -- Like its central location. Not as busy as Bartells site, big enough for nice landscaping & central to coffee shops. Library could be anchor site for Ballard to focus upon. -- No constraints! Excellent location with enough parking & large enough to build the library our area needs. Use all available space, & do not consider short-platting! -- Great connection to Market @ 22nd. Site is large enough to allow collocation with civic center. |

other pertinent info pertain to each site? What zoning and/or parking considerations
exist? Are all accessible by bus? Are any sites easier or more difficult to
develop than any others? I personally could live with any of the sites, but
I am willing to go a little out of my way to go to the librarya very
important part of my life for over 45 years here in Ballard."
