NAME OF PROJECT: NORTHGATE LIBRARY, COMMUNITY CENTER and URBAN PARKDATE OF BID OPENING: THURSDAY, FEB. 10, 2005 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project is a joint venture, co-location project between The Seattle Public Library (Library) and Seattle Parks and Recreation (Parks). The project consists of a new +/-10,000-square-foot library, +/-20,000-square-foot community center, as well as a new urban park. Also included is demolition of two existing structures and surrounding asphalt, which currently covers the majority of the site. The project is located at 10548 Fifth Ave. N.E., Seattle, WA 98125, near the intersection of Fifth Ave. N.E. and N.E. 105th Street.

qualified general contractors ONLY until The City of Seattle is an Equal Opportunity Employer. No bid will be considered unless accompanied by a certified or bank cashier’s check, or by a bid bond from a state-licensed surety company in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the Base Bid including sales tax and Bid Alternates, made payable to THE SEATTLE PUBLIC LIBRARY, Seattle, Washington. Bid, Bid Bond and other enclosures shall be enclosed in an opaque, sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the Bidder and addressed to the Owner. Mark lower left corner of the envelope “Northgate Bid.” Bid documents will be available on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005. Plans and Project Manuals may be obtained at:
A deposit check made payable to THE SEATTLE PUBLIC LIBRARY for the amount of $100 is required for each set. Partial sets are not available. The full amount of the deposit will be refunded to the bidders on return of the bid documents in unmarked and non-mutilated condition to Olympic Reprographics within four weeks after the bids are due. Bid documents may also be examined at local plan centers. A pre-bid walk-through will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at the site at Fifth Ave. N.E. & N.E. 105th Street. The architect and Owner’s project managers will be available at that time to review the project requirements. Attendance at this walk-through is encouraged but NOT mandatory. No bidder may withdraw its bid after the hour set for the opening thereof, unless and until the award of contract has been delayed for a period of sixty (60) days.
