Request for Qualifications, Architectural Design Services

The Seattle Public Library requests qualifications for architects to design a new Central Library. The project consists of a 355,000-square-foot library, built over a new 200-car parking garage on the site of the current Central Library. The project is planned for completion in 2003. Firms wishing to be considered for this work should attend an information conference scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 1999 in the Lee Auditorium on the third floor of the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Avenue, Seattle, WA. Architects will be selected through a two-step process, beginning with submittal of qualifications by 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 1999. Selected firms will be invited to participate in the second stage process based on a review of their qualifications submitted in the first phase. Further information, including a program summary is available on the Library’s web site, at http://www.spl.org, under the Libraries for All Capital Plan, or by calling the Capital Program Office at 206-386-4624. Submittals should be directed to:
