REVISED NOTICE, 4/16/99 (Replaces notice published 4/2/99)

Please Note: The Seattle Public Library is requesting statements of qualifications and expressions of interest from architect/engineer teams for the Capitol Hill, High Point and Beacon Hill libraries only. Subsequent announcements will initiate the solicitation for qualifications for other library projects. The current three projects include:

High Point: A new library of approximately 7,000 square feet to replace the small, 1942 library existing in the High Point garden community.

Beacon Hill: A new library of approximately 10,000 square feet to replace the existing storefront library at 2519 15th S. on Beacon Hill.

Capitol Hill: A new library of approximately 10,000 square feet to replace the existing Henry Library at 425 Harvard Ave. E. on Capitol Hill.

Fuller descriptions of the scope of each of these projects can be found at the Library's Web site, http://www.spl.org/capplan/libforall/nlb/nlbdir.html. A description of the selection process for these libraries, along with selection criteria, and further information can be found at http://www.spl.org/lfa/builders.html Telephone calls may be directed to the Capital Program Office at 206-386-4624.

The projects will be awarded individually, one project per firm selected. Subsequent advertised processes will seek qualifications for additional branch libraries.

Statements of qualifications should include a current 254 or 255 form listing recent projects, references for those, summary resumes of staff proposed for this project, and a letter of interest. The letter of interest and accompanying material should indicate whether the architect/engineer team seeks consideration for a particular project, or for all three. The qualification statement and letter of interest should be submitted to the attention of:

Alexandra Harris, Capital Program Director
Seattle Public Library
1000 Fourth Avenue
Seattle, Washington 98104-1193

no later than 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 1999. An information conference will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 19 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Avenue, Lee Auditorium. At this meeting, interested firms may ask questions about the projects or the selection process.
