We offer one-on-one tutoring, classes, informal conversation groups and online learning options to suit all learning styles.

  • Adult Tutoring
    We offer in-person and virtual tutoring for adults. Drop in and meet one-on-one with a tutor for help with English language learning, citizenship or basic skills or get free virtual tutoring from Tutor.com with a Library card number. Available in English, Spanish (español) and Vietnamese (tiếng Việt).
  • Citizenship Classes
    Prepare for the citizenship interview and civics test. For all English Levels.
  • English (ESOL) Classes
    Find free conversation groups to practice your English skills with other adult learners and native English speakers. English Circle groups are for anyone who does not speak English as their first language, from beginners to more advanced English speakers.
  • News for You Online
    Read, write, speak, and understand English with news articles written to help English Language learners and students. Includes audio, exercises and vocabulary. Use password 532792.
  • Northstar Digital Literacy
    Gain computer confidence and master technology skills with Northstar’s Digital Literacy lessons.
  • Online Learning
    Library cardholders can use several online resources to practice their English skills or learn a new language.

  • ProLiteracy Education Network
    A collection of self-paced courses, videos, activities and resources supporting adult literacy, English language learning and other adult basic education topics. Resources for adult learners, tutors, and instructors. Account registration required.
  • English for Work
    English for Work is a free, quarter-long program for immigrants and refugees to improve their English language skills and prepare for employment in the United States.
