What if I do not return an item on time?

You will not be able to check out items if you have more than $15 in overdue fees.
What if I lose an item?
You will be charged for Library materials you lose. Replacement fees vary.
Delinquent materials (50 days or more past due) - and accounts with a balance due of $25 or more - are submitted to Unique Management Service. They will:
- Contact delinquent accounts until balances are paid or arrangements made with a branch for repayment and return of overdue materials
- Report seriously overdue accounts to national credit reporting agencies
- Charge a $12 processing fee
- End of list
You may get reminders from Unique Management Service about overdue materials and outstanding fines. (Return rates on overdue materials are significantly better since the Library started using this service in 1999.)
