Receive Notices by E-Mail, Phone or Mail

How will the Library contact me?

You have three choices for receiving notices about your Library account:

  • E-mail notification
  • TeleCirc (automated phone messages)
  • Paper notices sent by mail. To receive notices from the Library by mail, contact your branch library or Borrower Services at 206-386-4190.
  • End of list

Why does the Library prefer to e-mail notices?

E-mail is fastest, saves the Library money and saves paper.

To begin receiving e-mail notices:

  • Update your account
  • Ask at any Library location
  • Call Borrower Services at 206-386-4190.
  • End of list

Why am I not getting my e-mail notices?

Many e-mail services (such as Hotmail, Yahoo, EarthLink and AOL) have settings that can stop you from receiving e-mail notices from the Library. These settings may place e-mail notices in your spam or junk mail folder and not deliver them to your in-box. Please make sure your spam or junk mail folder is set to accept messages from notices@spl.org. Check the Help section on your e-mail provider's Web site for more information.

Can I get RSS feeds from the Library?

RSS - which stands for Really Simple Syndication - is another quick way to get information about your account.

If you have an RSS reader you can:

  • Keep track of items you have checked out and when they are due
  • Know when items you have placed on hold are ready for pick up
  • Receive alerts when new items on favorite topics or authors become available
  • End of list
