A Library Like No Other
Designed by OMA/LMN Architects, Seattle's new downtown Central Library is like no other public building in the world. Constructed of glass and steel, the building deconstructs the stodgy image of a dark, wood-paneled hall of dusty books, and replaces it with unconventional features like the light-infused "The Norcliffe Foundation Living Room" and towering "Books Spiral."
Grand Opening Events
A special media sneak preview event on Wednesday, May 19 provides an exclusive opportunity to see the magnificent building before it opens and interview representatives across all areas of the project. Additional details about the sneak preview event will be available shortly. The Central Library will open its doors to the public on Sunday, May 23 with a memorable dedication ceremony, guided tours and more.
