Come to the Central Library to scan and edit your photos! The library now has image editing workstations with scanners and image editing software.
Three image editing workstations will be available for public use at the Central Library - two in the Mixing Chamber (Level 5) and one in the Arts and Literature Collection (Level 8).
You may use the workstations for 60 minutes (90 minutes beginning Aug. 25) and can reserve the workstations in advance. You can print black and white pages from the workstations for 10 cents per page.
Each workstation has a flatbed scanner and image editing software, including Adobe Image Ready, Acrobat Professional and Adobe Photoshop CS1.
In addition, the Level 5 workstations have HP Photosmart Essentials, Microsoft Office Suite 2003, a Web browser, and the ability to burn CDs and DVDs (image burning only, no video or audio burning).
The image editing workstation on Level 8 is part of a graphic arts work area. You also can hook your camera up to a copy stand to capture images from the Library's art and picture files or use the slide view to work with slides and transparencies.
