All locations of The Seattle Public Library and the book drops at the Central Library will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29.

 

Service interruption in the Library's Online Catalog – May 28 and May 29

The Library will be performing maintenance on our catalog starting at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 28 - 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 29. During this time, you will be able to search the Bibliocommons catalog, but will not be able to log in, place holds, renew items or use other catalog features. The former Library catalog (Horizon Information Portal), SPL Mobile, access to e-books, free music downloads and many databases and applications also will be unavailable.

All library branches have Accessibility Toolkits, which contain a variety of assistive devices to assist our low vision and blind patrons.

Keyboard
One large-type, high-contrast PC keyboard is located at each branch for patrons needing more visibility. These specific stations are named with the ADA identifier so patrons know which station has this keyboard.

This device offers even line spacing for patrons with low vision for filling out forms or taking notes during research.

Signature Guide

Low Vision Signature Guide
This device creates a signature space for patrons to use when signing their name on library cards, checks and other documents.

Low Vision Writing Tablet
This wide-ruled paper offers thick, dark lines for patrons with low vision and can be used for reference or research notes.

This marker is great for writing down reference answers, such as call numbers or addresses, for patrons with low vision.

Reizen Dome Magnifyer

Reizen Dome Magnifier
This magnifier is great for looking at a point of information and magnifies to about 3-4 times magnification.
