All Library locations closed Wednesday, March 29
All locations of The Seattle Public Library and the book drops at Central Library will be closed Wednesday, March 29 for a staff in-service day. Regular operating hours will resume Thursday, March 30.
Sensory story times are geared for children ages 10 and under who have a hard time in large groups, are on the autism spectrum, or are sensitive to sensory overload.
Our librarians will use preschool-level books, songs and movement during story times.
Registration is not required. Sensory story times are first come, first served and limited to 12 families. These story times are not appropriate for day cares.
All story times will follow the same format of songs, activities and books. Use this graphic to familiarize your child with the order of events.
Presenters will sing the same four songs in the following order at all sensory story times. Listen to an audio recording of each song with your child or print out the words.
Song 1 - The More We Get Together
Song 2 - Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes
Song 3 - The Shirt Song
Song 4 - If You're Happy and You Know It
