New Readers: Just Beginning

The child who is just beginning to read is learning to sound out vowels and consonants, is learning to recognize a handful of words and is comfortable with very simple books. A beginning reader may be just starting out or may have been reading for a year or two. Most of the books in this list come from our Early Reader collection (ER) but we have also included great nonfiction and graphic novels as well.
