Seattle Writes is a project to support local authors. It includes workshops on the craft of writing, drop-in writing groups, classes on publishing, and more.

Writing programs and resources

Refine your writing, experiment with a new form, and polish your manuscript with the help of our Seattle Writes classes, recordings, and resources. Beginning September 9, 2017, we'll have dozens of free writing and publishing classes throughout the city. In between classes, check out our Seattle Writes recordings.

All Seattle Writes programs are free and no registration is required. We suggest arriving 30 minutes prior to class start time; first come, first seated. We'll accommodate as many students as we can, while staying within our room capacity guidelines. Look under "Workshops" for information on classes in English (Seattle Writes) and Spanish (Seattle Escribe).

November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) where writers around the world challenge themselves to draft a 50,000 world novel in 30 days. In previous years Seattle Writes has hosted NaNo write-ins; in 2017 we will not be offering formal write-ins.
