All locations of The Seattle Public Library and the book drops at the Central Library will be closed on Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 19.

Register for a Seattle Public Library card online!

Getting a library card from The Seattle Public Library is now just a few clicks away.

You can sign up for a free card from your home, office, or school computer by visiting the Library's Web site: and selecting "Your Library Card." Once you've completed the online application, a card will be mailed to you within 14 days.

A library card gives you access to more than 2 million items in The Seattle Public Library collection, including books, magazines, DVDs, videos, CDs, books on tape/CD, subscription online databases, Library computers, sheet music, photographs, maps and much, much more.

Anyone who lives, works, attends school, or owns property within The Seattle Public Library service area qualifies for a free card. A spouse or minor dependent of someone who lives, works, or owns property within the service area also qualifies for a free card.
