Library closed Dec. 24 and 25
All locations of The Seattle Public Library and the book drops at the Central Library will be closed on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 24 and Christmas Day Thursday, Dec. 25.
Service interruption in the Library's Online Catalog - Jan. 1
Between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 1, the Library will be upgrading its electrical power system. During the upgrade, you will be able to search the catalog, but won't be able to log in, place holds, renew items or use other catalog features. The former Library catalog (Horizon Information Portal) will not be available at all. SPL Mobile, access to e-books, free music downloads and many databases and applications also will be unavailable.
Jodi Picoult reads from 'The Storyteller' March 14 at The Seattle Public Library
Jodi Picoult will read from her new novel, "The Storyteller," from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14 at The Seattle Public Library, Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 4, PACCAR Inc. Meeting Room 6.
Library events are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Parking is available in the Central Library garage for $5 after 5 p.m.
"The Storyteller" tells a compelling story of a woman who befriends a beloved community member with a dark secret, probing ethical and moral questions from two different perspectives.
Picoult is the best-selling author of 21 novels. Her last seven novels have debuted at number one on the New York Times best-seller list. She lives in New Hampshire.
