Writing Fellows From Local Jack Straw Program Read at The Seattle Public Library Nov. 18

Enjoy an afternoon of readings from writers in this year's prestigious Jack Straw Writers Program, hosted by curator Jourdan Imani Keith, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636.


Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required. Parking in the Central Library garage will be available for $7.


The writing fellows for the 2017 program include: afrose fatima ahmed, Quenton Baker, Jamaica Baldwin, Ellie Belew, Catalina Marie Cantú, Wancy Young Cho, Calvin Gimpelevich, Steph Kesey, Hera McLeod, D.A. Navoti, Ashlan Runyan and Brandon Young.


The Jack Straw Writers Program, now in its 21st year, was created to introduce local writers to the medium of recorded audio, encourage the creation of new literary work and provide new venues for writers and their work. Each year, a curator selects 12 writers from dozens of applicants to create a cohesive group of writers based on artistic excellence and diversity of literary genres.
