Chris Cleave reads from 'Gold' July 20 at The Seattle Public Library

Author Chris Cleave will read from his new book, "Gold," from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 20 at The Seattle Public Library, Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium.

 

The program is free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Parking is available in the Central Library garage for $5 after 5 p.m. The Central Library will close at its regular Friday time of 6 p.m. and reopen at the Fourth Ave. entrance at 6:30 p.m. for this event.

 

"Gold" is a story about the friendship and rivalry between two Olympic athletes as they experience love, marriage, parenthood, trauma and recovery.

 

Cleave is the author of "Incendiary" and the international bestseller "Little Bee," which was featured in the Library's 2011 Seattle Reads series. He lives in London.
