Playback: Second Submission Period Opens Nov. 7 for The Seattle Public Library's New Local Music Collection
Earlier this year, The Seattle Public Library launched an online Seattle music collection called PlayBack, starting with 50 albums of music by local artists, available for free download and streaming. Now, the second submission period will open for local artists to add their music to the Library's ever-expanding collection of Seattle music.

The Seattle Public Library Hosts 'Seattle Writes' Workshops Sept. 10 – Dec. 11
The Seattle Public Library's 2016 Seattle Writes fall program series will feature over 25 writing workshops at several Library locations from Sept. 10 through Dec. 11. Learn how to start a novel, build an author platform on social media, develop a story's character, contribute to social change, develop a sparkling query letter, write a modern fairy tale and more.

The Seattle Public Library celebrates 125th Anniversary
The Seattle Public Library is currently celebrating 125 years of service to the community.The Library includes 26 branch locations and the world-renowned Central Library. Last year, there were nearly 13 million visits to the Library and more than 11.5 million books and materials checked out.
